The Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India was laid the foundation stone of Kurukshetra University in 1956. First this was counted as a unitary residential University. The Campus is expanded to the 400 acres. the university has been stated only to promote the Sanskrit, but later the demand of time its working was expanded to the multi-faculty University as one of the premier centres for advanced study and research in the region.
