The repo rate is the interest charged by The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on borrowings by commercial banks. The Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) is that portion of the customers’ deposits that the bank has to keep idle or in liquid form. An increase in the Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) harmfully impacts margins immediately. 35% are of the opinion that RBI will hoist it by 25 basis points, 30% believe it will be increased by 50 basis points and 35% believe it will maintain status quo.
