Nehru trophy Snake boat race
Nehru Trophy Snake boat race 57th edition of Kerala's famed will be happening at the Punnamada lake in Alappuzha on Saturday 8th of August 2009. Congress president Sonia Gandhi will be the chief guest of the event.Others prominent people who will be present include union ministers Ambika Soni, Kumari Selja, Shashi Tharoor. The event that is named after India's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru commemorates former prime minister Nehru's visit to the state in 1952.
